Achievements of Sanyog During 2017-2024 Project Year

Environmental Sustainability Programmes

During 2017, Environmental Sustainability Programmes were held in selected childcare institutions in all the project implemented districts to create awareness on protection and preservation of the environment in those childcare institutions. Children and functionaries of those institutions have been imparted training by subject experts, through audio-visual presentation of documentary films on environment protection, organizing debate and drawing competitions on themes relating to protection of nature and environment among children. Such programmes generated considerable interest among children and encouraged them for creating ‘eco-friendly greenery’ environments. They were sensitized on hazards of deforestation, soil conservation, and global warming. Functionaries of childcare institutions were encouraged to grow different types of vegetables and medicinal plants. It has produced encouraging results like new plantations, formation of kitchen gardens, creation of children’s parks in several institutions, pledge by children for care and protection of plants, etc., and also encouraged children to develop a greater bond with nature.
