Supplementing Educational Needs of Children
Providing Private Tutors to YRLDSA Child Care Institution, Bhadrak. Tutors were appointed in important subjects like Mathematics, Science, Social Science, and English. These are the subjects, which the students, especially those reading in government schools, find difficult to understand and usually struggle to secure good marks.
Private tuition helps students with one-to-one individualized attention and customized study plans that particularly address their weaker subject areas. Students have simpler time learning, homework less stressful, extra chance to review the struggling areas, increased confidence in studies, improved academic performance, etc. It also keeps students on track during breaks from school, such as during long holidays like summer vacation, ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, etc.

In the rapidly changing scenario of the 21st century, the approach towards teaching has also changed. The world is moving from traditional classroom teaching methods to modern learning methods. The internet has become one of the biggest channels of education. A computer with the internet is the most powerful device that students can use to learn new skills and more advanced versions of current lessons.
The proposed electronically enhanced classroom at YRLDSA is equipped with multimedia components for enhanced learning. This would be the first of its kind in the State of Odisha. No CCI in the State has such facility for its children. The Instructor shall help students in understanding the contents in their school syllabus as well as enhance creativity in them to explore unlimited possibilities.
ART Class
When children are encouraged to express themselves through art, drawing, and paintings, they tap into their inner creativity. Children learn positive habits, behaviors, attitudes, and sharpen critical intellectual skills. Art programs have the potential to help improve a child’s memory and concentration skills, develop decision-making and critical thinking skills, enhance communication and listening skills, encourage focus and discipline.
Strengthening Vulnerable Children of Dhobakhal Basti,Puri
Dhobakhal Basti, located in the sacred city of Puri, Odisha, is a significant slum area. Like many other slums across the nation, the residents here face challenges such as low literacy rates and belong to economically disadvantaged groups. Consequently, the children in this community have limited opportunities for comprehensive development, which encompasses education, physical and mental health, and extracurricular activities.
In response to these challenges, a group of local volunteers established a learning centre called ‘Anweshana’ in 2020. The learning centre aims to address the educational needs of these children by providing psycho-social support, fostering artistic talents, and promoting physical and mental wellness through practices like Yoga.
Project Focus
This project focuses on the holistic development of children in the targeted slum by integrating psycho-social activities with education. The initiative aims to empower children with the skills and confidence needed to thrive in society, fostering a brighter future for the community. With the right support and funding, the school can significantly impact these children's lives.
