Management of Human Resources At Swargadwar Sevakendra,Puri

Introduction

Swargadwar, located in the holy city of Puri, is a famous cremation ground for Hindus. The name "Swargadwar" literally translates to "Gateway to Heaven," as many Hindus believe that being cremated here helps their soul attain salvation. People from various parts of India come to Swargadwar to perform the last rites of their family members, relatives, and loved ones.

Renovation and Modernization

In 2020, Swargadwar underwent a complete renovation, transforming it into a modern cremation ground with better facilities. The crematorium is now professionally managed by the Swargadwar Seva Samity. To ensure uninterrupted service, the Swargadwar Seva Kendra (SSK) was established with dedicated staff members, allowing for round-the-clock operations.

This modernization has given Swargadwar a new identity, contributing to Puri's development as a world heritage city. Sanyog has been managing human resources at the swargadwar Seva Kendra since its inception in August 2020, and in 2021, the Swargadwar Seva Samity awarded Sanyog a contract to continue managing these resources.

As of 31st March 2023, 38 Sevaks (Volunteers) have been deployed to ensure the smooth operation and management of the facilities at Swargadwar. These Sevaks are divided into the following categories:
